ANDROID 1982 Klaus Kinski Don Oppor On occasion even a very low budget sci-fi movie can entertain. Kinski plays a scientist whose eccentric lifestyle has him creating androids. Unfortunately for him, a group of criminals decides to visit his space station.

ARMED AND DANGEROUS 1986 John Candy Eugene Levy (from imdb) "A fired cop and useless lawyer sign up as security guards and find they've joined a corrupt union." Candy and his SCTV friend Levy do the honors. SALE PENDING

Melinda finds subtle ways of getting her policies implemented by manipulating the top brass."

BORN AMERICAN 1986 Mike Norris Steven Durham One of Chuck Norris' sons stars but chain-smoking newcomer Steven Durham's character is riviting in this tale of three friends who "accidently" invade Russia illegally and end up in some kind of internment camp for lunatics.

BREAKING ALL THE RULES 1985 (US-Canada) Carolyn Dunn (from the IMDB) "The story of two guys and two girls who meet and fall in love in an amusement park on the last day of summer -- all the while outwitting 3 moronic would-be jewel thieves."

BUCKAROO BANZAI 1984 Peter Weller Ellen Barkin John Lithgow Under-rated and very peculiar movie about a brilliant leader of a team of engineers and scientists who gets caught in a warring struggle between aliens. John Lithgow ("3rd Rock from the Sun") steals the film with his manic portrayal of a human possessed of an alien entity. Peter Weller playes the understated Buckaroo Banzai, a comic hero come to life. Weird yet fun.

CANNONBALL 1976 David Carradine Veronica Hamel A low budget version of "The Cannonball Run"-- America's most notorious clandestine road race --  with Carradine in the driver's seat.

CHOOSE ME 1984 Keith Carradine Genevieve Bujold (from IMDB) "Several lost-soul night-owls, including a nightclub owner, a talkback radio relationships counseller, and an itinerant stranger have encounters that expose their contradictions and anxieties about love and acceptance."

CISCO KID: SOUTH OF THE RIO GRANDE 1945 Duncan Renaldo In 1945, Duncan Renaldo stepped into the shoes of the Cisco Kid. Cisco's sidekick is Martin Garralaga. This was one of 3 western potboilers made by Monogram pictures. Renaldo is playing a more romantic lead role and singing. It doesn't have the panache of the later TV series with the great Leo Carrillo (Pancho). The Lone Ranger was a classic, but the Cisco Kid was cool. "Hey, Cisco! Hey Pancho!"

CLAN OF THE CAVE BEAR 1986 Daryl Hannah Hannah plays a cave girl who gets treated differently by the tribe because of her blonde hair and her non-neanderthal looks. Yes, it does sound a little like "One Million Years BC." This cave-movie, based on the book by Jean Arel, is played for a more "realistic" "Quest for Fire" sense.

CLASS OF NUKE'EM HIGH 1986 Troma Pictures Classic The insane people at New York's Troma Pictures cannot let a year go by without one of these movies getting out of their sack. Entertaining low-budget horror-comedy with acting on a high school level, yet somehow, they make a living on this stuff. Go figure.

C.O.D. 1981 Chris Lemmon Olivia Pascal Corinne Wahl Carole Davis (US-Germany) Funny, sexy movie about a company PR guy (Lemmon) who is hired to save the desperate Beaver Bra Company from disaster.

CROCODILE DUNDEE 1986 Paul Hogan Linda Kozlowski Paul Hogan went from "shrimp on the barbee" salesman for the Australian tourist bureau to world superstar with this movie about a cocky outback Aussie man who comes to New York and discovers a whole different kind of outback.

DARK STAR 1974 Dan O'Bannon John Carpenter Science fiction comedy about a team of planet destroyers whose lives are disintegrating aboard a spaceship that is also disintegrating.

DAY TIME ENDED 1980 Chris Mitchum Jim Davis Low budget sci-fi movie shot in the Mojave desert of California. An isolated home becomes the center of a time travel vortex that disrupts the lives of the family staying there.

DEMENTIA 13 1963 William Campbell Luana Anders Little known B-movie from the Roger Corman factory and a very tight first effort by director Francis Ford Coppola. Good old fashioned horror mystery.

DRAW! 1981 Kirk Dougles James Coburn Alexandra Bastedo Two aging burned-out gun fighters -- who happen to know each other -- are forced by an entire town into a face off. Coburn plays the hopeless alcoholic, Douglas is just looking to quietly retire, and Brit babe Alexandra Bastedo is the intelligent love interest. Comedy Western with more talk than gunplay.

EARTH GIRLS ARE EASY 1989 Geena Davis Julie Brown Jeff Goldblum Jim Carrey Geena Davis is a hair stylist who falls for furry alien Goldblum in this whacked comedy that also stars the Homecoming Queen Julie Brown, the spaztic pre-superstar Jim Carrey, and a cameo by billboard queen Angelyne.

EASY MONEY 1983 Rodney Dangerfield Joe Pesci The amazing comic Rodney Dangerfield became a star the second time around with this feature film.

EDUCATING RITA 1983 Michael Caine Julie Walters Two academy award winners in one film. Walters plays the working class hairdresser who strives to be more. Caine plays the cynical professor who has lost his way. Excellent movie.

ELVIRA MISTRESS OF THE DARK 1988 Cassandra Peterson Edie McClurg The stunning and shapely Elvira (Peterson), horror host forever, stars in this very funny tale. The death of her great Aunt brings her to the uptight puritanical town of Falwell. Naturally, Elvira's anarchic hedonism and, er... buoyant uplift... disrupts the town completely. No, I haven't seen the sequel.

EVERYTHING YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT SEX 1972 Woody Allen Some people consider this sex farce Woody Allen's peak, career-wise. It is funny, but Allen has done better work. "Bananas" and "Sleeper" come to mind -- and my favorite guilty pleasure, "What's up, Tiger Lily?"

FAST LANE FEVER 1982 (Australia) Terry Serio Deborah Conway Australia in the early 80's. Hot cars, hot chicks and hot times. Fox (Serio), the fastest street drag racer there is, accepts a challenge: 3 competition races. After two of the three race rounds, the race is no longer a game, but a struggle for survival.
